If ever the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers will face each other in the 2010 NBA Finals? Which team do you think has a
deeper bench? The Lakers has an advantage as far as depth of the bench is concern over their rival the Celtics? The Lakers Shannon Brown, Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic, these three key bench players can make the difference in terms of athleticism and experience over Boston's Rasheed Wallace, Glen Davis, Tony Allen, and Nate Robinson. The Lakers second stringers are capable of putting some valuable points with three pointers that is capable of breaking the momentum of their opponents and at the same time provide the team decisive runs to control the game while giving quality rest to their stars.
Wallace is below par his usual game since he is aging already and is always hot tempered on the game.

I think the answer would be the Lakers for three key reasons:
1. The lakers have the best individual bench player in Lamar Odom. He is a double double threat everytime he hits the court. His ability to stretch the defense will be key in any Laker Celtics matchup plus his defensive output has been significant on the boards. Phil Jackson will be the first to tell you that if you win the battle of the boards you will most likely win the game.
2. The lakers have a consistent rotation while the celtics are plugging in players almost out of desperation. Last night was the first time in the entire playoffs Nate Robinson played any crucial minutes. Glen Davis literally got knocked out by Dwight Howard and is no longer the same player. Tony Allen has been spurratic. And Rasheed Wallace may be the most disappointing free agent acquisition this year. Oh and Marquis Daniels? Not even on the radar. While I will be the first to tell you the Lakers bench is spurratic as well, the players know their role and the rotation is set. This will be a huge key when it comes to matchup time.
3. The pressure is on the Celtics Bench because the lakers clearly have the best starting lineup in the league. The lakers play big, and I mean real big! Plus they have the hottest player in the playoffs right now in Kobe Bryant. This production will be constant with Kobe and Gasol, with Artest/Fisher/Bynum playing their respective roles. The celtics have to be able to defend the bigs and atleast limit Kobe just to stay competitive. To have the edge the celtics bench have to play a larger role, a role in my opinion they can not fill.
Therefore I feel the Lakers are ahead when it cones to the bench debate.
