If a person wears a condom can they still get hepatitis?
Will wearing condoms prevent the spread of hep? Are there any health information about condoms and hepatitis?

Hi @maklee,
You should note that there are other forms in which the hepatitis virus can be transmitted. For example in hepatitis A, you don't need to be sexual in order to catch it because it can be transmitted through fecal-oral route. And when you eat, you don't need the condoms, lol. Kidding aside, even if you are using condoms, you still can get infected with the hepatitis B, C and more because you don't know that when you kissed the person who's a hepatitis B or C carrier, his saliva has blood 'coz you'll never know his gums are bleeding at the time you kissed so you're still vulnerable to the virus esp. if you have not been vaccinated. And sad to say, the scientists are still on the process of developing the vaccine for hepatitis C.
I personally believe that condoms will just offer a very little protection. What could protect you most is that having proper sanitation (to avoid hepatitis A and more), avoiding the use of used syringes (drugs) and needles (tattooing), avoiding being exposed to blood on other people’s sanitary napkins and best of all, just have one monogamous partner. I guess these are so basic and yet they’re being neglected oftentimes.
