I work in a bank and there have been a few bank robberies recently. How would you respond if you were help up at gunpoint?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Ask your supervisors and coworkers for advice. Request training classes for tellers. Typically banks have common practices on what to do to protect yourself. Perhaps your coworkers and supervisors would organize a rehearse drill, randomly executed (when there are no customers in the bank, of course).

Pay attention when you are in parking lots, whether you are in or out of your car. Always lock your doors when you are in the car. Robbers have been known to track who the employees are and where their cars are parked.

Then may approach you when you are entering or exiting your car, demanding you let them into the bank safes.

Also, if you work at a bank where there've been frequent robberies already, do you know why? If it's a small bank or near a major highway this could be a cause. You might want to work at another bank that has better security... :)

Good luck and be safe!

I would just do whatever the Bank Robbers ask you to do and not do anything irrational or stupid because it's not worth putting your life at any more risk than it is at and by doing what they ask they are more likely to keep you alive.

I think I will do whatever they ask me to do, if I was held up at gunpoint.
The sad thing is that I usually react the opposite of how I think I will.
That means, that I would probably scream and get shot. I hope that nothing will happen to you.

Usually I'm pretty calm when it comes to situations like that afterwards I freak out. Unfortantly when I was younger one of my aunts lived in a drug ridden part of a huge city and we would have to go down there to check on her because of her disability and I would be as calm as could be. We just got word that the robbers have been caught though so thats a relief. Hopefully no one will copycat them.

Give them whatever they want and then get out of the way.
My life and family is worth WAY more than the money in the drawer so you can take it and adios.
