I wonder why noone or hardly anyone ever answers my questions?

Here are some other ideas:
Perhaps it is a question that is in a niche area that few members have expertise on or interest in. As Mahalo expands, this would begin to resolve itself. I had a few such a questions, and I knew they were in a niche area. I've also suggested an "Question of the Day" contest be revived, so then you could look at questions that generated a lot of interest.
I also am cross posting my own question here, pasting the link above, to help direct traffic to my question as a strategy to get more responses and maybe a better answer. You could do the same from my question, by clicking on the above link and making a comment over there and then cross posting the link to your question. This works best with active questions.
I would also expand the description section, giving more information. While the above question is fairly direct, other questions you may ask may require more background information be supplied to help the answerer get a head start on things.
And perhaps to your surprise, I am noticing that people find your question interesting, because at the one hour mark, already there are 5 responses! So, just ask questions, and after a while you will notice what works and what doesn't. It actually takes practice to ask a good question. What question is asked about a problem can reframe the problem in new and exciting ways. When Fed Ex was expanding, they asked themselves the question, "What other needs of our customers, are we serving." They didn't just ask, how can we make service faster or more reliable." Such a question, generated the realization and insight, that they were in the business of storage! Goods on their planes were in storage while in transit. With "just in time" production methods becoming in vogue at the time, they realized that their service was perfectly complimentary! They took the risk of adding planes and was able to expand and increase profits. So just asking the right question can lead to new ideas, insights and profits! And you see, as I write, I am actually having so much fun answering your question! I enjoy being able to contribute to your well being. So thanks for asking the question.
Since I wrote such a good answer here, I really want to encourage you to cross post your question on my question. Otherwise, I might have to do it myself.
And asking for advice questions generate a lot of interest I think. People love to give advice! Often time, to my irritation though, when I don't want it. But here, I'm sure if you ask for advice, you'll get plenty of responses!

M$Pretty much all of them are about subjects that I know nothing about, and a lot of them are about golf, which I don't play or follow. So that's why I wouldn't answer them, and it's possible that other people are in the same position.
Apart from that, some of the following can make a big difference to the number of answers you get...
- Tipped? (It'll appear on the page longer, and there's more motivation to answer)
- Voted interesting? (Keeps it longer and higher up on the main page)
- Lost between a flood of other questions? (There are times when a lot of questions get asked in a short time, and your question will disappear of the front page very quickly)
Some of the niche questions may get answered eventually though, but it could take a month before someone interested in them finds them.

M$I agree with @philipy. There are plenty of times that I see people that I like (both of you included) post a question that is not in my 'area' to answer.
If it'll make you feel any better... I always look at them, I just can't justify answering if it's something I know nothing about... like golf.
Same here - I see almost every question, but if it's something I don't know about, I don't respond usually.
My idea of golf is using one club - but people tend to look confused when you line up a putt and hit it in using only a driver.

M$This was 60 Cents at the time I jumped in...but its a strange question and I like Strange Questions at any cost.
I threw in 50 Cents because of the new word I learned today.
"Noone" is formed for consistency with "nobody", but it is still considered nonstandard because of the doubled vowels creating a temptation to read and pronounce it as "noon".
Do you remember Herman's Hermits Peter Noone ?
This has nothing to do with your question but I did Google Noone and Peter showed up.

M$1) Grammar counts!
The question should be clear and well written. I think people may avoid a question they don't understand. (ex. You could have written "I wonder why few people answer my questions. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be?)
2) Be Specific.
Having a focused question helps people research a possible answer.
3) or be vague . . .
Vague is not always a bad thing, don't be afraid to ask opinion questions, you may get some creative answers.

M$I don't know very much about sports so that would be why I would not answer those. For the other ones, well, I have been knocking myself out for the last few months getting going on my 51 now pages and just plain haven't answered hardly any questions at all compared to before. I am here http://www.mahalo.com/member/emailuser42 and you can see my answering is almost nothing now. But in working on the pages I have asked questions, and put things on the pages, and fixed them up some, and entered some contests - they are just too darned interesting to skip sometimes! and I have been on Twitter trying my darndest to figure out what all THAT is about here http://www.twitter.com/emailuser42 and I have been tweeting my pages into the Twittersphere wondering if anything will echo back or not. I noticed on one page you had no tweets on that little box at the bottom of the page that says Twitter and you don't have a Twitter account linked to the top of your page. If you are not on there, if you click on the word Twitter they can introduce you to it, I think you would like some of it for sure. The url is http://www.twitter.com to register. Have you read the info they have on some Mahalo page on how to Market yourself or some such topic? I can find it for you if you don't see it in the Mahalo tutorial stuff, I think the link is from the box at bottom right on main page http://www.mahalo.com in that you try to bring people in that are interested. If I just sat there and did nothing I think I would still have zero on most of my pages, but now it is starting to pick up, and that maybe will help with the questions and answers on Mahalo Answers.
Do you ever search the web and look for Blogs about your topics of interest and comment on the blog telling them about one of your pages? I have done some of that too, and when a page is updated I may Twitter it to someone who I think might like it, etc. so the short answer is I don't have the time to answer if I could, and wonder why you have the time to wonder why no one is answering because I don't have any time at all, at all. Maybe you should try doing more things, I know the waiting for an answer is annoying, but it is also more boring than it needs to be, because I used to do that and now I do so much I don't even check all my questions sometimes to see if they were answered and miss the deadline to pick a best answerer, really it is a different focus it goes from passive to active, and I am not into sports, but to me active mode just seems like so much more fun so you should try it. If this does not suit you, and you don't want to bother with Twitter, I just think you should look at this page of this nifty scientist - he is having such fun on Twitter I have learned a lot from reading what he says about how to have a good time on Twitter, it is just interesting I think http://twitter.com/ThomasHensel so if you go on Twitter, you click to follow this person, then you can send him a message sometimes and if he wants to answer you back he will click to follow you then you can also have conversations with him privately and directly, that is sort of how Twitter works I think, although I don't have time to try that out, but maybe you do! Good Luck!

M$I paged through looking at all your questions. They were uninteresting. Mostly you ask sports questions, sometimes American Idol. A few Mahalo process questions.
My recommendation would be to stop watching TV. Then you would read more, fiddle with your computer more, and become a more interesting person. Then you might have more interesting questions.
To have much hope of getting more than an answer or two, someone else has to find the question worth a nickel. Or, you have to cough up a buck. Better yet, both.
The largest number of answers usually come for opinion questions that require no actual knowledge.

M$But your questions are opinions questions! Like "Is anyone watching Chefs vs. City? If so, what do you think of it and who do you like best, Cosentino or Sanchez?" It's just that opinions questions like that require people to know who the heck Chefs or City or Cosentino or Sanchez are, and nobody does. If you must ask a sports question and want more than an answer or two, I suggest asking about top international sports events. I won't answer but you'll still have a better chance.
Well, you only got one answer and that was from someone saying that they had never heard of the show. Maybe you're not thinking about the numbers. There are only a few hundred people answering on Mahalo, relatively few of them regularly. Of those, about half do not live in the USA. On top of that, TV shows mostly have different demographics in their audiences than interactive computer stuff like Mahalo.
Perhaps if you offered big enough tips people would try to watch your shows to answer. But I see you never offer tips, which could be another problem.
I find my questions quite interesting. Just depends where one's interests lie, I suppose. I dont like the opinion questions that much.
Or "Who"
The people that watch the show will know who they are. I'm sure someone watches it.
Yes, people love to give their opinions, much more enjoyable than trying to look up an isolated fact. So begin the question with the word "How" or "Why" instead of "What" or "Where" Did you notice that your presenet question has the word "why" in it? Actually, I want to thank you now for asking the question.
1. availability of pool of peoples (in Mahalo)
2. reaching the pool of available peoples (in Mahalo)
3. ability to answer the questions
4. willingness to answer the questions.
Improve on 1:
publicity of Mahalo, improvement of incentives to get more poeples of all walks of life to Mahalo etc..
Improve on 2:
get your questions into top rank, be it: highest tips, most popular..etc..
most effective will be highest tips :-)
most popular is useful too.. it gets curious peoples’ attentions
Improve on 3:
this relies on 1. However, you can help by asking peoples of who likes Golf too to join Mahalo.
Maybe can propose to Mahalo to target some “marketing” to Golf peoples :-)
Improve on 4:
I think this shouldn’t be a problem for you.
Guess this will be a problem only for peoples who always quarrel with others :-)
haha, this question is a good way too..
at least it gets me to read your questions though I only joined yesterday :-)

Thanks maxzhichao for the tip! You made my day! Is there a particular sentence or point in my response that was especially meaningful to you or was it just the whole response?
I answered your QotD question in your thread. Basically the best questions of the day already get filtered and featured on Mahalo. The top 10 threads on the Mahalo Answers homepages are the questions with the most "interesting" votes. So if you think a question needs more eyeballs, slap a nickel on it and it will be bumped up.
