I wonder what Trekkies thin of the new Star Trek movie? Do you think they would hate it?

I have talked to a couple of die hard Trek fans (and, ahem, I believe they prefer to be called "trekkers" rather than "trekkies," though that's neither here nor there), and this small sample size has mixed emotions over it.
First and foremost, they loved the movie. They thought the story, the action, the special effects, and the characters were all great. However, some of the plot elements were not their favorite. For example, the fact that the planet Vulcan blew up was not at all in the Star Trek timeline. In fact, given the canon of the whole story, it can't possibly fit in. There are a couple of other plot points like this as well.
But as a whole, they really liked it. Besides the problems in the whole decades long story line, it was a great movie.
