I was wondering which NHL team was the worst of all time. So I did a little research and came up with two teams. The 1943 -
1944 New York Rangers won just 6 games out of 50. The 1974 - 1975 Washington Capitals had a record of 8 wins, 67 losses and 5 ties, which is the worst ever. Does the worst record make them the worst team? Are there any teams you can think of which could rival either of these two for one season futility?

I would say the 74-75 Capitals were the worst team in history, they were an expansion team that year and had very little talent, not unlike most expansion teams. The Kansas City Scouts were also an expansion team that year, yet they doubled the Capitals in points over the season.
This team only one once out of 40 road games, they were shutout 12 times and their highest scorer was a fellow named Tommy Williams with only 58 points.
Regardless, a pretty brutal club.
