I was watching the animal planet show breed all about it and they said ridgebacks are immune to bug bites is this true or false?

According to several sources, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are insensitive to insect bites, which means they experience almost no pain or discomfort from them. This trait stems from the breed's origin of South Africa. They also can go without food or water for longer amounts of time than many other breeds.
