i was 25wks pregnant,did USG and doctor told me baby having hydrocephalus,suggest to terminate..i agred. ,wat is the cuase of this case
i was 25wks pregnant,on 25 june did 4D USG and doctor told me the baby having hydrocephalus,suggest to terminate..i agreed.i admitted on 26june in clinic & had induced vaginal delivery on 27 june. Note that i was not feeling any abnormalities during pregnancy.what is the cause of this case?in future will it be repeated?

Exact cause not identified of congenital hydrocephalous.There some maternal infection like toxoplsmosis,rubella,mumps,cytomegalovirus,syphilis associated with hydrocephalous. There some genetic cause.Sometimes hydrocephalous associated with neural tube defect like spina bifida.After birth some problem arises in this baby like mental retardation,physical problem,convulsion etc.In severe cases associated with other problem termination advised,other cases pregnancy continue and delivered baby by ceasearian section,then surgical or other treatment given.
Next pregnancy may affected.So it is needed to exclude any infection present or not which mention above before next pregnancy.Also need taking folic acid in first trimasture of pregnancy to over come neural tube defect.
Before next pregnancy it is necessary to consult obstetrician.
