I want to use the puzzle effect in Photoshop CS2 for OSX but the Filter-->Texture link is unavailable.

The layer is selected but the texture link/menu is un-selectable.  What do I need to do to the layer to make this option available?
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I found the same problem. When I went to Image->Mode, I saw that I was using 16 bits/channel. After I selected 8 bits/channel, I was able to select the Texture menu item again.

Try that...

Thanks for responding.
That was close. I was already in 8bit mode but I switched from CMYK to RGB and ALL the filter options became available.
Really appreciate you directing me to looking at those options.
