I want to take up climbing. Is that very strenuous and demanding exercise?

I love walking and hiking in the mountains and sometimes I see climbers hanging off a rock. Does one have to be very slim to do climbing? Where can I find more info online?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If there is anything that mountain climbing as a sport requires, that is the determination of one to reach the top.

Fitness is an aspect that is given through the responsive application of one's skills in climbing. Naturally, there is a set of warm up exercises ought to be completed before one sets to climb the wall-set-up. Or if it is preferred that the climbing is to be done on mountains, small warm up exercises are suggested to be taken. Why is this so?

Setting the muscles up for the climbing activity to be completed is important to avoid strains or muscle spasms. Hence, because of these exercises and the physical activity that climbing imposes on a person, becoming fit becomes easy and part of the process.

NO, it is not necessary that climbing as a sport should be strenuous and physically demanding. Instead, participants of this sport should know that to benefit from it, they should be able to understand that getting along with the sport requires time and practice; which means that for novice climbers, the tracks ought to be shorter which shall be increased through time.
