I want to buy a pressure washer to use outside on my house. What is the proper PSI for this? and do I get gas or electric?
I have a brick house and garage floor that I would mainly use it for. I don't really want to strip the paint off of my trim but I would like to get a decent pressure washer for around $200.00. Also what is the biggest difference between an electric and a gas powered pressure washer. Any advice?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For general cleaning purposes (deck, siding, driveway, etc.) a pressure between 3,000 and 4,000 PSI is more than adequate. Even at these pressures, the water stream will be powerful enough to strip paint from surfaces and "dig" into wood. Be careful not to get the tip of the wand too close to the surface you are cleaning! (and keep away from your arms and legs as well, the water stream is powerful enough to easily cut you!)
If your use will be very occasional, an electric powered unit is probably best as you avoid the extra maintenance associated with a gasoline engine. However, if your use will be more regular, it's really hard to match the power and convenience of the gasoline powered unit. It's a burden enough being tethered to the water hose; having to pull the extension cord around the house as well can be a real pain.
Northern Tool is a great source for this equipment. I would highly recommend them. Follow the links to view their line-up of pressure washing equipment.
