I want to become a dubstep dj because I love music...how do I get started?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hope that helps.

M$Well I hav listened to all different types of music ever since I was little. Dubstep music is just more of my passion. I still listen to a variety today tho. Really what I need to know is what type of equipment I need to get started or any other pointers.
I do not find your question or your comment credible. My recommendation, if you have really tried listening to all kinds of music, would be to take piano lessons to gain a better appreciation of music from a different perspective.
I do play the piano. I feel like you don't know anything about this kind of music otherwise you would have just answered my question rather than trying to sound like a smart ass and tell me that I'm contradictory.
If you really have listened to many kinds of music and you have learned to play the piano and you still want to be a dj of this sort then there is nothing more to say. Sad but true.
How is your music collection, vinyl, or digital? You'll most likely end up getting Traktor or Ableton with external time coded vinyls or CDs to play with.

M$Found this cool page as I've been looking myself: http://www.challands.com/DJ-equipment.html
Explains some great ways to get started. Good luck!
Its all digital. I've tried downloading different dj software just to play with to try and get more comfortable with the controls. Im still very much interested in becoming a dj/ possibly music production as well. Thank you for actually taking an interest rather than just being an asshole like albanian. What would u recommend for me to like start learning how to create the music and getting used to the controls just practice or are there schools or anything like that?
