I need to know how I can forward podcasts in gmail.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Or try USend.io http://www.usend.io to send it in email.
Dropcasting, You can use Drop.io to deliver your content into the iTunes Podcast menu.

M$most podcasts have a d/l link for itunes and also a d/l link for the web. if you email that link to yourself, you'll still need to retrieve it (just like you do with drop.io) from your web connection when you get the email on your target device.
email really wasn't made for big (let's just say >1 meg) attachments. the podcast (or any binary file) has 8 bits per byte, and thanks to email being designed for text, there are only 7 usable bits per byte. so your 28 meg MP3 file gets converted into a 32 meg UUencoded text file. (or a similar up-sizing from Base64 encoding.)
recently, on cnet's buz out loud podcast, one listener complained that he was not going to be able to listen while on his ship, as the Navy allows pretty much unlimited email, but he can't get huge files using his browser. a number of other listeners offered to chop the show up into smaller parts (say 3 minutes each) and re-encode it at a higher compression (so the mp3 file will sound worse) then email those to him separately every day.
I have a feeling there's a better solution for him and his shipmates. something that involves a server on the ship cacheing a local copy of the files the sailors vote on as most important to them.
can you give more detail as to why you want to transfer by email?

M$according to:

the max size for an email on gmail is 20 megs. BUT beware the encoding overhead i mentioned above. they suggest attaching binary files no bigger than 16 or 17 meg.
ALSO, you may send a mail with big attachment to another email service that my reject such a large message. but if both users have gmail, then feel free to use that 16 or 17 meg limit.
Why not send a link to the mp3 file?
Thanks so much for your reply! I want to share the podcasts with a Florida friend who knows nothing about the internet but e-mail. They also don't own an ipod so I was trying to figure an easy way to get them to them.
Very interesting information...I had not heard of Drop.io or USend.io. Thanks for the help!
