I need to buy a new pillow. If memory foam is the way to go which one should I purchase?
Price isn't necessarily an option. If I need to spend $50 for a superior pillow...I'd consider it.
Is there something other than memory foam that I should get?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I believe that "memory foam" is a good way to go (I have a couple), but the choices quite similar.
Kind of like bottled water: mostly advertising and not much difference in the actual product (it's just foam)
Again, this is mostly opinion and I hope others disagree if there is reason to.

M$One thing to be careful of with these pillows is smell. Some come with a strong odor and I ended up abandoning the Tempurpedic one becuase of the odor.

Thank you for the input, however the problem for me is that there are so many brands and densities of memory foam pillows that I tend to get overwhelmed. I don't know enough to filter out the bad (ie in terms of bottled water I know that dasani is really just tap water). Do you have a particular favorite among your pillows and by chance do you know who makes it and all that?
I don't think bottled water or memory pillows are in the category of "you get what you pay for". I think that nearly all of them have the potential to give you a good night's sleep. I will stick with the mantra of go to the store and give them a squeeze. Pick the one that fits the firmness you prefer in a regular pillow and don't worry about much after that.
