I need some authentic Middle Eastern recipes for cooking, where do I go?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hello mmng23,
Yes, there are some websites based in Iraq that offer authentic Iraqi recipes. One of these is http://www.iraqicookbook.com/contents/intro/main.html. There are several other people who have published books on Iraqi food and these people have websites with some authentic recipes. One such website is http://theiraqicookbook.com/klaicha-with-rye-flour/.
I would also suggest you check these links for Iraqi recipes as they have a large variety that has been reviewed. However, these websites are not based in Iraq: http://recipes.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Iraqi_Recipes
http://www.food.com/recipes/iraqi
If you are looking for a list of spices used in Middle Eastern cooking, I would suggest that you try this link which has number http://mideastfood.about.com/od/middleeasternspicesherbs/tp/commonspices.htm of commonly used ones. Here each spice such as sumac, caraway and nutmeg has a short description outlining its use in the region.
Much of the eating in Middle Eastern households consists of a large bowl in the center of the table with people scooping up food stuff from it with bread. Thus a lot of food is prepared to be eaten by hand.
