I need a new vampire book to read. Does anyone know what I can read?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Don't read Twilight! For the love of humanity, don't!

Depends on your age:
I read Cirque du Freak when I was younger and thought it was awesome. It is interesting, and the writer is pretty clever.

Anne Rice is one of the most famous writers about vampires. Her works include Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and The Queen of the Damned.

I don't really know too many other vampire books, but this site has a good list of books. http://www.vampirelibrary.com/

How about The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/dd/Historiancover.jpg

It involves a lost document, a secret handed down through the years, international travel, espionage, romance...kind of reminds me of Steve Berry, but with vampires! People are in danger of all kinds the entire book. It's almost impossible to put down! It was published near the end of 2005 and supposedly took place earlier in the year.

Have you read any books from the Vampire Academy series? They're really good. http://www.amazon.com/Vampire-Academy-Book/dp/159514174X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236825826&sr=1-1

I highly, highly recommend "Vampire Cabbie" by Fred Schepartz. It's not your typical vampire novel, trust me. It's about a vampire, who loses his fortune in the stock crash of the 80's and starts driving a cab in Madison, WI.
