Some things that can help you look slimmer are to wear something with vertical stripes. Maybe a button down shirt with vertical stripes. Gap, Express and BananaRepublic aren't too expensive. Or a blazer over the T-shirt.
Also might want to change the background. In your current BG, you have WP with horizontal lines of text, so it makes things look wider. You can go with a neutral-color, or a green-screen photo of a news room or something.
