I know how we can make Mahalo a household name!

I saw a question by @soundboy recently, asking if Mahalo was a household name yet. Since, most answers said no. Perhaps, we as a community could make it happen.

I was thinking about advertising Mahalo, but in a really different way. We could place stickers or something we can easily leave behind in public places, with just the words Mahalo or Mahalo.com. Anyone who saw them would probably go home and Google it or go directly to this site.

Everyone on Mahalo is spread all over the world, mostly in the U.S, I think we could cover a lot of ground. And it would be fun.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think that is a great Idea! We could also print flyers and hand them out at colleges (considering you go lol) I will do my part to make this as known as google or dogpile! Great idea again!

You need to be careful with that idea... leaving stickers in public places can be considered vandalism and could result in a very negative opinion of Mahalo. Even things such as Posters/Flyers being left around can be considered vandalism (or in other cases littering) and can result in fines/jail time...

Yeah, I thought about that. Perhaps we could ask for permission first if it's a store or something.

I think it would be better to sponsor something -

something televised (racing event, sports event) or a concert tour

Surprisingly enough, sponserships of large events often give a really small return on investment. If an event is large enough to be televised there is a good chance that those watching would pay little attention to who is sponsering it. The same holds true for concerts, I've done surveys to determine how well sponserships of concerts work and the typical answer is "oh, I didn't know brand X was sponsering this show", even if the brand is plastered all over the venue...

I think the best way to advertise it are online and by word of mouth. When people hear or read about it online, they can go right to it and check it out. When they hear a testimonial from a friend, that gives good credibility and they are likely to check it out. I don't think posting stickers and flyers in public would be as effective for marketing Mahalo.
