I just want to edit raw HTML without a WYSIWYG editor, is that too much to ask?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Heck no, that's not to much to ask. Try Crimson Editor (and new Emerald Editor). These are true plain text editors. I use Crimson Editor all the time for HTML and I love it.

If you're using Windows, I'd highly recommend taking a look at Notepad++ for creating & editing HTML, CSS, and other similar files.
