I have mold on my plastic primary fermenter for making beer. If I wash it, will it be safe to use?

I heard mold on plastic is nearly impossible to fully remove.

Use a chlorine bleach solution, then multiple fresh water rinses. Allow it to thoroughly dry and you should have nothing to worry about from taste or safety standpoints.

If you can kill it, even if the residue is there, it will be dead residue. Possibly it won't taste good but that would be about it as a problem.

I would say that if you use a bleach solution you would surely be able to remove it. But after usage of this I do not think it would be advisable to use the fermenter for making beer to consume.

Washing it with water and soap probably won't work. You probably want to go and get something like chlorine or such to kill it.
