Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

That's odd. I also had dandruff; Head & Shoulders shampoo worked wonders. I have been dandruff-free for months. I suppose it doesn't work for everyone. One thing that also worked phenomenally is Selsun Blue. Try that out if you haven't already done so.

If you do not take a shower everyday, do so. It will help significantly. I'm not suggesting your dirty, I just thought it is a necessary part of the answer haha

HERE ARE SOME ALTERNATIVES:
Sebulex
Nizoral
Dr. Varon's Therapeutic Shampoo
Free & Clear
DHS

Take a look at some of the links below for other alternative means of getting rid of it. Dandruff is not really a big deal, but some people think it is. I could never figure out why...Anyway, check it out:

It may not actually be dandruff that you're experiencing. In the summer, my scalp gets dry, and it produces a dandruff like effect...even though it's not the same thing. There are some things you can try at home that may help you. One of these is using apple cider vinegar. Massage it into your scalp before shampooing, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse. Supposedly, this will "help restore the proper acid/alkaline balance of the scalp and kill a bacteria that clogs the pores that release oil to the scalp. The clogged pores result in scales and crusts being formed."

A dermatologist can determine exactly what's going on with your scalp. It may be dandruff, dry scalp, or something else entirely. My advice is to just try a few different things until you find one that works best for you.

Nizoral seems to be the best commercial product for dandruff you can get.

Hope that helps!

Selsun Blue and Head and Shoulders contain the mineral selenium, reportedly to try to decrease dandruff. You might want to check with a dermatologist or natural doctor, if you are concerned about excess minerals being absorbed through your skin. Perhaps they can offer alternatives, also.

Get a good natural shampoo like Jason Tea Tree oil, and try that once a day, rinse thoroughly. http://www.jason-natural.com or http://www.vitacost.com (discount shampoos here)

My hair stylist recommended using Listerine (not the mint kind) or witch hazel 20 mins. before washing hair. I've used this, and I can definitely say that it works!

Try using a natural shampoo that contains Tea Tree oil. Tea tree is an essential oil that helps treat minor skin conditions such as dry scalp, dandruff and eczema safely and naturally.

Below is a link to a shampoo made by JASON, a popular yet affordable natural bath & body company, that can be found at Walgreen's and many other drug and department stores.
