I have been hearing talk of Alcatraz being remodeled and reopened, is this true?
I thought they were using it as a historical point...I could be wrong. I overheard a bunch of people at the store saying they read a news article online about Alcatraz being remodeled and reopened. Remodeled I can see, but not reopening...

I know that it is a tourist attraction not only for the prison, but for the island itself. You can catch a tour off the San Fransisco Bay area and you can purchase the tickets on-line.
I do not believe nor have I heard anything about it re-opening, making it a meseum would be a cool thing.
