I want to either use it in a hack or rebuild it if possible but i am a n00b and require guidance please.

did you check the flux capacitor on the hoverboard?

lol, seriously if its popping a fuse then the most likely reason is a short, is their a place where the circut boards could touch metal , or are their any broken or striped wires?

wkuace: thanx for sticking with me on this. first of your questions, it stopped working after i ran it up a curb it just died, i had the board that has the heat sink on it out for quite a while and only replaced it the night i poasted the problem. I am not the origional owner. the fuse blew when i tried a fix that didnt work and i bought a packet of new ones. the top board has thre pink looking connectors the charger plugs into the and the other end connects to the board. capacitors all seem ok. I have checked the batteries in the past and they seemed ok they are probably dead now due to lack of use.

Now i have stripped out all the electrical components and have now taken the motor apart and have found what i think was the origional problem (see photo of motor) the spings should be in side each of the gold looking cases with one of the blocks in the centre pushing them in and the circular strip of metal is to keep it all in place.

Although this maybe the cause of the origional problem due to my inept atemps at reparing it i think i have caused more damage. the repair i tried was to fit a new diode (i think.. small black thing on a wire) in place of a wire which was broken but after doing so and testing it that was when i first popped the fuse (unknown if replaced before i had it) i later found out that the wire is ment to be broken from the factory.

been gone for a while sorry, if that wire was supposed to be broken by the factory their is a good chance that was the problem, is it working now? It was probably there for some kind of test in the factory. Good luck fixing all of those bushings (the gold things) they can be a pain when trying to put the motor back in. The good thing is that the fuses should have prevented any damage to the boards so with a new motor it should work fine, actually it might charge with the motor disconnected (and that diode gone).

BTW Thanks for voting my comments best, i just wish i could have helped more, Good Luck getting it running again

Did it work before you replaced the heatsink?
Are you the original owner? The fuse may be a smaller replacement if its second hand.

I have a few more ideas,
First the pic is a little blurry, does the charger run right into the large transformer? the resistance through each coil should be(i'm guessing hard to know without a spec sheet) around 10-100 ohms, if a coil burnt up then the resistance would be about 0

Second, Check the tops of each of the capacitors (the metal cans) if one looks bowed out on top it may have popped

Third, you can take each battery and test the voltage, it should say on each battery if they are 6 or 12 volts, a drained battery would be 5 or 10 volts, if its a lot lower then one of the cells inside the battery may be ruined, but i don't think that would cause a fuse to pop

the top right hand side of the scooter as you see it in the pic the metal strip connects to the base of the board and i have put new heat sink compound between it. as for broken wires and connections i couldn't find any and have checked several times.

If you could provide some more details and more pictures it would make diagnosing the issue much easier.

Im not sure what else i can tell you. since the origional poast i have stripped out all the components and am currently trying to see if i burnt out the motor. (note the motor did work when it origionally died) but now it appears to be dead- i wana be sure before i throw it out.
