I have a recipe that calls for nut meats, what is that?

1 cup of nut meats, cut

What does this mean? It is in a fruit salad recipe.

"Nut meats" usually refers to any shelled nut, such as pecans, walnuts, pistachios, etc. If your recipe doesn't specify which nut to use, basically it's up to you.

Shelled Hickory Nuts (if not available some website refer it as walnuts) are referred as Nut meats. Of course we use it in Fruit salad recipe which tastes superb.
