I have 3 Days to visit NYC, What Places I shouldnt miss?

I like Photography, Museums and Dance/Elec Music
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

A must-get is the great free NYC public transit maps. If you're coming in on the trains the help desks and or tourist information stations have them. The subway should be all you will need if you are limiting yourself to manhattan. They have separate bus and subway maps. Even if you're not taking the public transit for the most part, the maps are handy to have.

You like Photography... so...

International Center of Photography
http://www.icp.org/

Museum of NY City
http://www.mcny.org/ (Largely a museum centered around photography of ny.)

The circle line tour is pretty good to take.

As far as dance/electronic music.. there is far too much going on at any one time and it really depends upon knowing more information about what type of stuff, genre, atmosphere, etc. you like about it. It's probably best to look online for related stuff (events, etc.) before you go, and then pick up the various free papers when you get there.

A listing of some other museums...
http://www.ny.com/museums/

And there are places like the fashion institute of technology that have regular exhibits of things like costumes, historical fashion, etc. etc. many related to films, modern culture, etc.

And if you're either a fan of keith haring there is a room (formerly a bathroom) featuring his murals on the walls, and/or are LGBTQ (or even if you arn't.) the LGBT center is a good resource... (and many be a good place to find out about various dance music events and other cultural stuff) http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/08/a-25-year-old-gay-landmark-built-before-the-civil-war/ http://www.gaycenter.org/
