You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If you find out who was your 401(k) plan provider, you should be able to contact them, and knowing you were a member of the Plastech 401(k), along with your social security number, they should be able to locate your account.
http://www.encyclopedia.com/Pensions+~A~+Investments/publications.aspx?date=199902&pageNumber=1 lists U.S. Bank as the plan provider for Plastech, at least as of 1999.
US Bank's contact information is available at http://www.usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/personal/sub_global/personal_cu.cfm .
Even if they were replaced as Plastech's 401(k) provider, they may be able to help you track down who took over from them.
Good luck.
