I didn't get an imprint of a credit card, but the card was charged & no dispute was filed. Boss still wants me 2 pay 4 the charge. Legal?

I do food delivery. I am supposed to make an imprint of a credit card for purchases made over the phone. This time I forgot to. My boss is trying to make me pay for the mistake. But, if I remember correctly, the imprint of the credit card is used for insurance purposes, in case the client disputes the charge. From what I understand he has not disputed the charge. My boss is telling me the receipts are submitted to the bank to collect the money, but I've seen bundles of these receipts in his office. I think he's lying. Is my boss trying to make me pay for the transaction legal? Can I find out, without his help, since he seems to want to be paid twice, if the client is disputing the charge? I found his credit card info, but haven't been able to reach him yet.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
