I couldn't say that I like pulses and legumes a lot, but if there were a few good recipes ...?

There are 2 websites that I go to when I want healthy recipes, its either http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/legume-recipes or http://recipes.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Category:Legume_Recipes both of these websites have the best recipes not just for legumes as main ingredients but to lentils, beans and chickpeas as well. Any vegetable or healthy ingredients, you can easily find a good recipe from those websites.
As for a book recommendation, I would go for http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooking-Beans-Grains-Pulses-Legumes/dp/0754816516 - the book has 185 recipes of the healthiest ingredients you can think of especially legumes, grains and beans! And if you really need to get a copy of the recipes asap, you can even buy it via your kindle! One recipe from the book that you should really try is the spicy bean soup, its definitely the tasty, spicy recipe you have been looking for.
