i can't surf the internet in my google g3 even though i have the internet connection. I have tried to reset settings to default. pls help.

I have been reading for the past year about outages in cities from New York to San Francisco.

I live near the Gulf Shores and had two friends complain to me last night that they had no 3G service.
I do know for a fact that BP and all the workers that are down at the shore have been given 3G air cards. Maybe the increase of users in a certain area can overload the system? Why else would the system go down at peak hours?
Since I don't know where you're located, it might be best to just call your carrier and see if they can help. There might be something happening locally that is only affecting your area.
