I applied for a job at an Apple store. The site said the position was available. How long should I expect to wait if I were to get the job?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Since it is your first job, you will really need to make a good impression. Some retailers won't be interested in giving a young first-timer the time of day. So you really have to be on your toes and impress upon them how smart and interested in the job you are. Even if that means applying more than once. It took me two tries to get my first job at the place I wanted.
So, if at first you don't succeed; try, try again. Wait about 90 days (that's how long most employers hang on to applications), then fill out another application. Go into the store often, talking up the other employees. Some managers will ask their staff if they know an applicant, so any good word you can get. Use a diverse group of references. Use some teachers or counsellors or someone you know that has been gainfully employeed for a long period of time. You will need someone to vouch for you for your first job. That's the nature of the beast. You have to prove that you're worth more than some guy off the street that has more experience.
Personal experience
I used to conduct interviews and was in charge of the hiring process at an old job.
