I answered a Mahalo question but my answer disappeared. What happened? Has this happened to anyone else?

So, I just spent about 10-15 giving a very thorough answer to a question (three links, photo, the works). It shows on my profile page that I answered it but the question is still showing that there are no answers. I can't answer it again because it's telling me I've already done so.

What's going on? Has anyone else had similar experiences lately?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hey Jobrielyn, we have been experiencing some hiccups on the site today, and your not the first to have brought this issue to my attention, we are positive that it's fixed now, but just to be safe copy any work you do into a wordpad before hitting any "submit" buttons just in case something funky happens.

Eitherway, I see your answer... it actually showed up twice, so you didnt you lose your work.

Thanks, Jeff. I checked this morning and you're right. When it reappeared, it multiplied! According to my profile page, it only awarded me 2 points. I answered it within the first hour, so it should have actually given me 4 points, right?

This has happened to me in the past. Now when I'm composing a long answer, I open a file with Notepad++ text editor and write my answer there, including links to web sites, images, videos, etc. I save the file and then copy and paste my answer to Mahalo.

This provides a backup and gives me a source for composing new, similar answers.

Thanks for the tip, Socalsue. That's good advice. I started doing that after the mysteriously disappearance of my answer!

I put up a very long, researched answer on the question about the foot/toe injury and when I went to look at it today, the entire answer is just *poof* gone. I know that it went through, because I even have an email from that answer where someone responded to the question after I answered and it alerted me to that, but then when my answer went *poof*, I stopped getting notices.

This wasn't 'recent' though - I answered the question late last night and noticed it was missing tonight.

I guess the site hiccuped for you, too. Did your answer reappear, Michy?

Nope, it never did, and now the question is already in 'voting/undecided', so I can't readd it. It's okay though, as long as it doesn't happen regularly, I can handle a little glitch now and then. It just seems Mahalo is having lots of little glitches, so I do hope they iron them out really soon.

I just answered a question and I was given the correct points so I guess it will show up later.

Thanks, javamama (love the name, by the way). It did show up. Twice! Now if I could only get awarded the other 2 points I should have had.

Hopefully, that means Mahalo has found a cure for its hiccups!
