I am wondering what kind of impact Terrence Cody will have this season on the Baltimore Ravens defense?
They ranked 5th in the league in rush defense and 8th in the league in pass defense, both very good rankings. That could mean a tough time for him to enter the starting lineup. Yes, he has a tremendous amount of upside and I would assume certainly will get plenty of playing time. The Ravens have Lamar Divens, Brandon McKinney, Kelly Gregg and KellyTalavou returning from last season to play NT and DT. The Ravens also drafted DT Arthur Jones out of Syracuse. So where does Cody ultimately fit in?

Terence Cody was a great pick to go so late in the draft for the Baltimore Ravens. Yes the Ravens are deep at the defensive line, but Kelly Gregg is 33 years old and Trevor Price has put in 15 years in the NFL. At 33 you can only expect so much effort without being fresh. Also considering the talent that the Ravens have, he can learn under the best which could make him the prospect that a lot of people think he is capable of.
The question is what will he become once he turns pro? Terence Cody showed up at weigh in at 370 pounds in the Senior Bowl. That makes you wonder about his work ethic, but it is too soon to tell. Some athletes can't handle the freedom in the Pro environment while others love the paycheck and the completion. A team with lesser talent might not have been able to challenge a 370 player to take his game up to the next level, but the Ravens have that talent, and they are a winning team that likes winning. So if he wants to play he is going to have to make the effort.
This year he could give some fresh legs to a team hoping to play extra games.
It's hard for a 370 pound player not to make a splash.

I tend to agree, he can make a big impact but has to get his weight under control. The line is aging so he can certainly give some of those guys a break during the game. Should be an impact player eventually
