I am stuck. Algebra. Keep coming up with an impossible answer.
A rectangle and a square have the same area. The length of the rectangle is one hundred forty feet more than two times its width. The length of a side of the square is sixty feet. What are the dimensions of the rectangle?
I come up with 35 ft for the width and 210 for the length, and this is not an option.

I think the answer is 20 for Width and 180 for length
Using 3600 as area of the square
3600= L X W of the rectangle
L= 2W +140
substituting that
3600 = W(2W +140)
3600 = 2W squared + 140
0 = 2W squared +140
(cant figure how to do the squared superscript on this keyboard)
Go here and put it in the quadratic form to solve, and then multiply it out
