I am new! is Mahalo.com one of those scams, or does it really pay??
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Mahalo is not a "Get rich quick" scam, if you are enthusiastic, a decent writer and you enjoy research, chances are you can make a few bucks. I can expect about $30 a month with a moderate amount of effort but I see people who make much more then I do, by putting more time into it and developing Mahalo pages.

M$Mahalo is a brilliant site, but I'm probably not the best person to explain why as I don't use it to its full potential - I spend my time here asking and answering questions but you can also build pages and complete tasks, among other things!
Hopefully someone else will respond with a more complete answer for you, but I just wanted to get this thing going ;)

M$No members have earned a lot more in less time. $200 mahalo in four months is not a reasonable amount of money for your time. Work it out per hour.
This is not true. I have been on Mahalo just four months and have earned at least $200.00 between page management and Mahalo Answers (MA) tips. Some members have earned far more in much less time.
That one high paying page has not actually paid that much, it is just an estimate for the future if the rest of the year continues. But it is an extreme exception. Coupon pages are the only high paying pages, and only a few of them, and doing them is actual work (not something one would do out of interest). Most pages earn next to nothing, or nothing at all.
I was addressing your statement: "Even the top answerers have spent a year or so earning a few hundred dollars." Khoptz doesn't inquire about Mahalo Answers, specifically, but about Mahalo, generally, which includes page management, tasks, and Mahalo Answers. There are definitely ways to work smarter rather than harder. However, I have other motivations besides earning money.

I only ask and answer questions here, I don't manage any pages and I've earned over $100 already in a couple of months.
