I am looking to install an in-ground pool in the Boston area. What should I expect to pay?
I am looking for a pool that would be primarily for kids to play in. In terms of size I could use guidance here as well.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You should get at least 3 bids from local contractors. Maybe you can join Angieslist.com if none of your friends/neighbors have a referral for you. BUT do not forget to factor in any costs the pool may add to your homeowner's insurance/taxes. Also make sure that the pool design includes any necessary safety elements, as required by your local building code. Sometimes the right fence, etc can be costly. The monthly cost should also be considered since chances are you will need to hire someone to clean/maintain your pool. Keeping a pool heated can be very expensive. And, remember that a pool does not add value to your property. It may, in fact, turn off potential buyers. We have a pool and I love it. But these are things you should be aware of.
