I am looking for examples of films or music videos or commercials or any video example where a color type effect is fundamental to the video

, not an overt special effect like sin city, but more where color is used to heighten the video, where one color becomes much more dominant to extenuate a brand for example

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would suggest two movies:
1. Akira Kurosawa’s Ran

trailer

This video clip below showed how Akira Kurosawa made the movie and how colours are used: video clip of Akira Kurosawa directing the movie

2. Zhang Yimou’s Hero

This article Cracking the colour code of Hero discusses how colours are used in the movie Hero.

Well, interesting question.

I have a slow internet at the moment so I'm having trouble sifting through YouTube but I do recall how ads for tissues like this Kleenex ad use soft colurs if any, the predominate color is white - white sheets, white couch, white walls in the rooms etc. Pastel colors if any, no harsh reds or blues. Why? Because we associate white with cleanliness and purity :) You can probably find more "white" ads for things like toilet cleaner, toilet tissue, that sort of thing for exactly the same reason....
