i am having a problem getting into my msn hotmail....cannot receive or send e-mail

I frequently have problems with my MSN Hotmail account as well, and there are two things that frequently cause this. First of all, MSN security is not the greatest in the world, and phishing is a frequent problem. In this instance, you need to log in to the web based version of Hotmail through your web browser, and go through the steps to change your password.
There is a checkbox there that will alert you to change your password every 72 days, and I highly recommend this in order to keep your email safe. You should have a relatively difficult to guess password that makes it harder for hackers to break through to your inbox.
Another problem that I frequently experience is that either MSN Hotmail is down for a period of time, or my connection is interrupted. This can be either a problem with your ISP or it may just be a temporary glitch in the system. Still, you want to log in through the web based version, and if it is in fact a temporary problem, it is usually resolved relatively quickly. If you are using Windows Live Mail to check your email, connection problems can occur quite often, and you will get a yellow error triangle message with an exclamation point in it that says unable to check for messages on.......account.
If you are using Windows Live Mail, also be sure to check that your version is the latest version available, as this can often fix a number of bugs in previously released versions.
