To "cure" (E)rectile (D)ysfunction, you must first determine the underlying cause of the problem. E.D. is a symptom, and it can point to a serious illness such as diabetes (high blood sugar), hypertension (high blood pressure), or atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). E.D. could also be caused by a hormonal imbalance, stress, smoking, or drinking alcohol.

The first step toward correcting E.D. is to see a doctor. Your family physician may refer you to a urologist, which is a specialist of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.

E.D. is not considered normal in young men so if you're suffering from it, do not be embarrassed to see a doctor.
