Seeing the thread about the dead fox in the garden reminded me of this story involving my work colleague last year.
Her very old dog died and being quite large she didn't know what to do with it, and didn't want to dig up her garden and have it buried there.
She called the vet who said they would dispose of the body for a fee. Seeing no other avenue (council didn't want to know) she placed the body in an old suitcase and headed for the tube station as the vet's was one stop away and she didn't drive.
To get down to the station there are a number of steps, and a guy asked her if she needed a hand with the case, she thanked him and he lifted up the case only to leg off with it.....
Several people tried to help, but she said she just looked at him running down the roa dand laughed as the guy must have thought because it weighed a ton he must have picked a winner!!
She said although she was upset about not knowing what happened to her pet, she smiles thinking about him opening the case .....
