How would you improve MeetingWave for business or social networking offline?

MeetingWave.com allows members to post an Invite for a meeting that specifies the type of people they want to network with or the purpose of the meeting. The member is notified by email each time someone accepts the Invite. The member then approves or declines each acceptance and can do so for any reason. Only "approved" people may attend and the proposed meeting is only confirmed if at least one acceptance is approved. Thus, the member controls whether the meeting happens and who may attend. Invites can be for coffee, lunch, dinner, drinks or any other meeting activity. It's free and easy to use.

MeetingWave can be used to make new business contacts (e.g., new clients, sales leads, job opportunities, etc.) or to make new social contacts or friends. How would you improve MeetingWave for either purpose?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Personaly I would have to say adding a security or other type of feature that can help prevent craigs list type incidents. I would probably go with a rating system for each attende that other attendes can use and also an overall meeting rating. Would allow people to become "legit" so to speak. Sure you could probably fake a rating by setting up your own with multiple accounts and such, but it would still offer some general security.

Another thing to do would be to make an online meeting side to the site. Include things like video conferencing, shared "drawing boards" and the likes. Perhaps charge a subscription fee for something like this, and even offer personalized portals for bigger buisnesses to use it for their internal meetings with offsite employees or customers.

I had a good look at the service and it seems very promising. For one, I have had experience as a web developer and graphic designer. I noticed that once you log in and look at the menu under the same column as the Log out button I can't help but notice there is very low contrast the further the gradient lightens to the right. It isn't much but I'm sure it will be appreciated by someone (including me). Something else that would be nice: multi-lingual capabilities. I'm sure there would be Spanish, Russian, or French people that would like to use this service with more comfort. Another feature that I, personally would very much enjoy is an alternative style sheet. Some people like the black on white look, and others like the white on black look. It would be nice if you had one. That's about it. The features are very accessible, it's organized, and clean.
