How would you handle a next door neighbor that never mowed their lawn and people driving by mistaking it for a vacant lot?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25

Check the law in your area regarding lawns. Then approach the neighbor and tell them their yard looks bad . You would like to know what is going on. It is always nice to ask them before you do anything. Then you can make plans, either to mow it for them or call the local government to get some actions taken.

Mow it for them and hopefully they get the point. Be careful i have heard of the neighbors calling the cops for trespassing. Only mow the front though, dont worry about the back.

Your neighborhoods covenants may have regulations regarding this issue and they could possibly handle it for you too.

In the past I've mowed for them. They're usually appreciative, and also more diligent in getting it done in the future.

With all the problems in the world today I personally would not sweat it.

However ... contact your local municipality first to see if there were any city/town ordinances about something like this. If there is not, than you start making calls to the homeowners association (if there is one) or the city council board members and mayor that there needs to be. But this would be something handled at the local government level.

I would tell the neighbour to mow his lawn, if it causes severe problems for me. Or, i would just advise him to set up a sign which would make others notice that it's private property. If it doesn't work out, i'll complain to the local authority.

I would tell my neighbor to mow his lawn. It's a disgrace or let it grow and report him to the authorities. I know in my neighborhood the lawn cannot grow to more than 10 inches, by law.
