Hi,
When I think of the word beautiful, I immediately visualize a beach with vast acres of gleaming white sand and a wide expanse of crystal clear aqua blue water beckoning to me. To me, the beach and ocean represent peace, and tranquility, which, in my mind, is the most beautiful thing there is.
However, I am sure everyone has a different picture in their mind when they think of the word beautiful. In this society, the word beautiful is usually used in conjunction with perfectly airbrushed supermodels and Hollywood actors. Personally, however, I think of beautiful as a state of mind, not always a picture perfect face and body.
Just for kicks however, I will give you Dictionary.com's definition of beautiful:
"1.having beauty; having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind: a beautiful dress; a beautiful speech.
2.excellent of its kind: a beautiful putt on the seventh hole; The chef served us a beautiful roast of beef..
3.wonderful; very pleasing or satisfying."
Obviously, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
