Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Passage of the GED, or General Educational Development, exam is necessary for students who did not finish high school to get a job or attend college. There are many GED preparation courses and GED testing centers Chicago.
The two organizations that offer GED preparation classes are Jobs For Youth and the City Colleges of Chicago. Both of these programs prepare students to take and pass the GED exam. Jobs for youth is a 12 week program that preps students in the five core high school subject areas: writing, math, science, social studies, and reading. At the end of the program students are required to take an exam to test their readiness to take the GED test.
The City Colleges program trains students to take the GED and like the Jobs for Youth programs focuses on the five core high school subject areas. The City Colleges program is free and online.
After taking the preparation courses, students can take the GED exam at Malcolm X College through the Cook County GED Testing Program. The exam is offered in both English and Spanish. Malcolm X College is a part of the City of Chicago system.

The Adult Education courses at the City Colleges of Chicago are free to all students who did not finish high school or need to learn English. In addition to the GED exam, other courses in the Adult Education program are: ESL, which stands for English as a Second Language, and Career Bridge for Workforce Preparation.
