How will the new version of [[The Prisoner (1967)]] compare to the old one?

They're making a new miniseries version of The Prisoner (1967) on AMC. http://www.amctv.com/originals/the-prisoner/
Is it the perfect thing to honor Patrick McGoohan's recent death, or will he be rolling in his newly-dug grave?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The remake was announced prior to the death of McGoohan, so we spin this in saying McGoohan had the opportunity to die happy knowing his idea would reach a new generation. And the main difference will be rather than Cold war politics, were looking at 21century politics... I translate that to terrorism.

-----------
The original series, co-created by Patrick McGoohan, was influenced by Cold War politics. The new version, produced by Trevor Hopkins ("Dracula"), reflects 21st Century issues, such as liberty, security and surveillance, while keeping the original's paranoid, tense tone.

i think i'd rather see a remake of Gilligan's Island. Instead of the Harlem Globetrotters, maybe they could get a smoke monster.

Be seeing you.

Oh, and #6 from the new BSG is much better looking than #6 from the prisoner.

Who is number one?
You are, number six.
