iPad runs on iOS and has access to Apple App Market, which has over 300,000 apps. The App Market contains more than 50,000 apps which are either specific to iPad or have been optimized to be used on the tablet. Motorola Xoom on the other hand used Android Honeycomb, which is a tablet specific version of Google’s mobile operating system. Therefore it has access to Android Market Place which has more than 200,000 apps and is rapidly increasing. Therefore, it can be safely surmised that iPad has access to more apps than Xoom has but at the very same, it should be noted that despite the smaller number, Android Marketplace has a number of very useful and good apps. Most of the popular apps are generally available for both iOS and Android platform.
