How will a study abroad experience enhance my employability after I graduate?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

To maximize your study abroad experience for employment opportunities, travel to a country with a reputation for excellence in your desired career and, if possible, find an internship and make contacts. If you don't know what you want your future career to be, make sure that wherever you go you vary the activities participate in. That way, if an employer is looking for a specific skill set, you can easily relate one of your experiences during which you achieved those or complimentary skills.

M$It can be a slight help regardless since it makes you seem worldly and it gives you something to talk about in interviews if someone asks. But try to pick one that will allow you to make contacts with local groups that relate to your career.
PS I've been on study abroads and they are great experiences. Money is an issue, but it's often cheaper to go as a student than later, especially if you can get scholarships. Good luck!

Good answer.
It'll depend a little bit on what career you want to pursue, what you'll be studying, and where. But in general since business is very global these days, anyone who has solid international experience has an advantage. Also, it'll make you stand out from the pack a little, which is always a good thing. Recruiters have to sift through large numbers of candidates, so anything that helps them get a picture of what you're about or what makes you special is good.
