By being lucky, really. If you're new to horse racing the best advice I can give is just go with your gut. Bet small, $2 bets can win you some good money if you do it right. My mom always bet by picking horses that neat sire/dam names and she always did well. She was pretty lucky though. See were the odds sit and bet on the occasional long shot, you never know when they'll kick it into gear!
