Wow, I honestly had no idea there were so many ways to take away garlic smell! I love cooking and although I'm sure these other "remedies" probably work, I stick to good ol' dishwashing soap -- works every time! It's also less time consuming.

Try with the lemon juice. Wash your hands with the lemon juice of half of a lemon and no water. And the garlic smell will wash away.

That garlic smell certainly does stay with you for a long while after you're done using it, and depending on where you're going, it can make you very self-conscious. There are a few things you can try.

*Soak your hands in vinegar or lemon juice for a few minutes, then wash your hands with soap and water.

*You may have garlic under your fingernails, so clean your nails and wash them with a nail brush.

*Rub your hands with table salt or baking soda, then wash with soap and water

*Rub something that is stainless steel.

*Wear latex or rubber gloves when preparing garlic, but be careful not to get any powder from the gloves on the garlic.

*Rub your hands with a little toothpaste or mouthwash, then rinse with water.

*Use a garlic press.

*Take a steam bath, sauna or a long hot shower. It takes a while for the smell to go away, but it's a good reason to relax for a half hour.

There is an easy and excellent Indian way to get rid of that godd*mn smell!
When my mom cooks for me and this thing happens to her she then gently make a solution of lime water in 1:1 ratio. Dip her hands for a minute or two (not more). And lo...smells gone!

I like the garlic smell when it is on food and I love to eat it, too! However, walking around smelling like garlic is another story, haha!

We cannot just avoid touching it when chopping it so you may notice that its smell stays on your hands for hours. And when you need to travel or is going to host a party, it really eats your confidence. So in order to remove that garlic off your hands, try these tips:
- Simply rub your hands with a stainless steel spoon or other stainless steel utensil.
- If you have no stainless utensils, you can simply rub your hands with a little salt or baking soda.
- You can also slice a calamansi fruit and rub slices on your hands. Then finish off with dishwashing detergent.
Hope it helps.
