How to sleep well?

It is very easy to take an OTC sleeping pill (diazepam, seduxen, valium, etc) before (half to one hour) going to bed and fall asleep. Some antihistamine (phenergan, histacin) also induce sleep. But habit forming is the mail problem. Natural sleeping technique is worthy.
Here are some tips for getting a restful night's sleep naturally which I usually prefer and you may also follow this:
• Drop your bed room temperature by a few degrees before going to bed.
• Have a warm short bath before you go to bed, or try at least running your hands and feet under warm water.
• Try to sleep in a dark room.
• Try to keep a regular bedtime and get up around the same time each morning, including weekends.
• Use your bedroom only for sleep and intimate activities (keep the television / laptop in another room).
• Avoid stimulants of any kind if you suffer from sleep troubles. (Skip the late afternoon colas and coffee, and cut down on alcohol, too. It may make you feel sleepy at first, but the by products it gives off as it breaks down in the body will wake you up later).
• Gentle stretching or yoga exercises also can help promote relaxation.
• Using herbal remedies to help you sleep better (Valerian).
Hopefully you will enjoy the gift of nature (sleep – the best healer)!

M$The second thing is to remind your body that it's time to rest. Turn off the television, radio, or any other electronic device that may keep you awake. Dim the lights, and maybe even light a few candles. Sip on some tea or hot cocoa, and consider reading a light book or magazine, or even meditating. Even a little bit of relaxation can lead to a good night's sleep.
Good luck!
