1. Inform your friends that you are giving up facebook.
2. If you want you can delete all your photo, comment, friends, profile info, etc.
3. Click settings (top right hand corner).
4. Go to Account Settings.
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
6. Next to the heading Deactivate Account, click on Deactivate.
7. You will be taken to another page where you have to specify a reason for
deactivating your account.
8. Once you have supplied a reason, click Deactivate.
9. And your account will be deactivated.
